What this site is
farflunggame.online is an independent fan site for Farflung, the daily geography game in which every prompt has many right answers and the rarest correct one travels furthest. We started it because we love the idea and wanted more of it: a second daily expedition, an unlimited mode for practice, and a calm place to look up hints when the official prompt has us stumped.
The site has three parts:
- A daily Farflung game with its own five prompts each day, the same for every player, plus a streak and shareable results.
- Farflung Unlimited, which deals a fresh expedition whenever you want one.
- Farflung answers for the official daily expedition: spoiler-free hints first, then every valid answer with its rarity and how often players picked it.
Who is behind it
The site is built and run by an independent developer and geography fan. It is not affiliated with Farflung LLC, which makes the original game at farflung.game. If you enjoy the format, please play the original every day too.
Where the data comes from
- Map shapes come from Natural Earth, a public-domain map dataset, at 1:50 million scale.
- Country facts for our own prompts — regions, neighbours, capitals, official languages and currencies — come from the open mledoze/countries dataset (ODbL).
- Rarity in our game is estimated from each country's prominence (population, economy and size) until enough players have pinned each prompt.
- Official answers — the prompts, valid countries, rarity tiers and player shares on the answers pages — come from the official game's public daily data. The hints and summaries are our own.
Corrections and contact
Think a country should count for one of our prompts, or that one shouldn't? Spotted a wrong hint? Email us at hello@farflunggame.online with the prompt and your source, and we will check it and fix the prompt bank. Suggestions for new prompt types are just as welcome.
Your game progress and streak are stored only in your own browser; you never need an account to play.
